What is the Korea eArrival Card(EAC)?

The Korea eArrival Card is an online platform provided by the South Korean government for all inbound and outbound travelers to declare their personal information, health status, and travel history. Travelers must submit an electronic declaration via the Korea eArrival platform before entering South Korea. The declaration includes the following information:

  • Personal Information: Name, passport number, nationality, etc.

  • Travel Information: Flight number, arrival/departure date, etc.

  • Health Information: Any existing health conditions, vaccination records, and recent symptoms of infectious diseases.

  • Accommodation Information: Details of the traveler's stay and contact information.

This declaration process is designed to ensure safety in South Korea and assist the government in monitoring potential health risks. All travelers must complete the online declaration before arrival to avoid entry delays or other issues.


Who Needs to Complete the Korea eArrival Card?

According to South Korean immigration policies, the following individuals must complete the Korea eArrival Card:

  • All Foreign Nationals: Regardless of the purpose of entry (tourism, business, study, etc.) or length of stay, all travelers holding a foreign passport must complete the arrival card. This includes short-term visitors, long-term residents, and transit passengers (if entering South Korea).

  • Accompanying Minor Children: Even if traveling with parents or guardians, each child must complete a separate arrival card and cannot share one.

  • Travelers Requiring Additional Declarations:

    • Travelers from Epidemic Areas: Those arriving from regions affected by diseases such as cholera or yellow fever must submit a health quarantine declaration.

    • Travelers Carrying Restricted Items or Large Amounts of Cash: Those carrying more than USD 10,000 (or equivalent in foreign currency) or taxable duty-free goods (such as alcohol and cigarettes) must submit a customs declaration form.

Exceptions:

  • South Korean Citizens and Permanent Residents: Do not need to complete the arrival card but must present a passport or residency document.


When Can You Apply for the Korea eArrival Card?

You can complete the Korea eArrival Card application within three days before travel. While applications can be submitted earlier, the Korea eArrival Card will only be issued within three days before entry.

For example, if you are traveling on March 3, the earliest you can receive your arrival card is March 1.


What Information Does the Korea eArrival Card Contain?

The Korea eArrival Card typically includes:

  • personal photo

  • Basic information: Name, nationality, passport number, date of birth, etc.

  • Travel details: Expected duration of stay, accommodation location, purpose of visit, etc.


How Should You Keep the Korea eArrival Card?

Once you complete the Korea eArrival Card declaration, you will receive a PDF document with a QR code via email. Please print this document and carry it with you when traveling to present it at immigration if required.


Are There Any Passport Requirements for the Korea eArrival Card?

To apply for and use the Korea eArrival Card for entry, your passport must be valid for at least six months beyond your arrival date in South Korea.
